What a weekend! Some parts of the central belt have seen quite decent amounts of snow this weekend and this also ended up as quite nasty (and in some parts, black) ice. Not a great biking weekend, although some brave scooter riders were spotted out in those very conditions. Good luck with that.
With that kind of thing going on, I turned my attention to my two-way radio gear to seek improvements in range when used to marshal events such as YEER. More often than not, these radios end up stuck in a tank bag or under a seat. That puts them in a mainly horizontal position whereas the antennas are designed to be positioned vertically. A small detail perhaps, but one that can make a difference. I have been looking at mounting positions on my own bike as well as my good lady wife's. If we can stay in contact with at least one other position, useful information can be relayed.
Hopefully the weather will improve soon and we'll all be able to get back on two wheels and dust off those cobwebs. In the meantime, we hope you all had a pleasant Valentine's Day.
